A split air conditioner has two units: the indoor unit in the room and the outdoor unit on the facade or balcony. Copper pipes, a cable and a drain run between them. The price depends mostly on the line length, the wall thickness and where the outdoor unit goes.

How much it costs
Typical price in Tbilisi: 220–400 ₾ for labour, parts not included. The technician confirms the final price on site or when you get in touch.
What a standard installation includes
- mounting the indoor unit on the wall and the outdoor unit on brackets;
- drilling the wall and running the pipes, cable and drain, usually up to 3 metres;
- vacuuming the system, checking the joints and a test run.
What costs extra
Brackets if you have none; every extra metre of line; a line hidden in the wall; a condensate pump if water cannot drain by gravity; work at height where the facade is hard to reach. All of this is agreed with the technician in advance.

- the model and capacity (BTU) — a photo of the box or the unit label;
- a photo of the wall for the indoor unit and the view from the window or balcony for the outdoor unit;
- the distance between the units and your floor;
- whether a new hole is needed or a line is already there.
How the technician works
The technician estimates the job from photos and settles the unit positions on site: the outdoor unit needs air and a solid wall for the brackets, the indoor unit should not blow straight at a bed. At the end the technician checks that there are no leaks and that the drain carries the water away.

How much does installation cost?
Open sources list a standard installation of a unit up to 12,000 BTU at 220–400 ₾, without brackets or extra line. A more powerful model or a long line costs more.
Do I need to buy refrigerant?
A new air conditioner comes charged in the outdoor unit, usually for a line of a few metres. On a long line the technician may add refrigerant — this is agreed separately.
Can the old unit be removed at the same time?
Yes. Removal together with a new installation is often cheaper than on its own. Mention that you need both.
