Which boiler to choose
Flats usually get a wall-mounted gas combi boiler that both heats and provides hot water. If you have a separate water heater for hot water, a heat-only boiler is enough.
The output depends on the area, wall insulation and floor level. Send the technician the area, the number of radiators and the old boiler model, and they will tell you what output you need.
What the installation includes
- removing the old boiler (if needed);
- hanging the new boiler and connecting heating, water and power;
- connecting the flue or coaxial pipe, drilling the wall if needed;
- filling the system, bleeding it and setting the pressure;
- first start-up, settings and a working check.
Gas and safety
Only a specialist authorised to work with gas connects the boiler to the gas line, and the flue must be routed so that combustion gases do not stay in the flat. Before the installation, ask the technician who will do the gas part.
The price guide covers installation only, not the boiler or materials. New pipes, moving the flue or drilling a wall cost more.
