How much it costs

Floor-standing or wall-hung
A floor-standing toilet is fixed to the floor and connected to the sewer with a flexible or plastic pan connector. It usually replaces the old one in a single visit.
A wall-hung toilet is mounted on a metal frame hidden in the wall, with the cistern also inside the wall. It looks neat and the floor is easy to clean, but the frame has to be fitted before the wall is closed.
What a replacement includes
- shutting off the water and removing the old toilet;
- checking the sewer connection and replacing the connector or seal if needed;
- fixing the new toilet and connecting the cistern and the water hose;
- sealing the base and flushing several times to check that nothing leaks.
What to prepare for the plumber
Take a side photo of the old toilet showing the sewer connection — into the floor or the wall. If you have already bought the new one, send the model: the outlet type has to match.
Frequently asked questions
Does the price apply to a wall-hung toilet too?
No. The guide is for a floor-standing toilet; a wall-hung one with a frame costs noticeably more, especially if the frame is being fitted now.
Will the plumber take the old toilet away?
Agree this with the plumber in advance: some take it themselves, otherwise it is arranged separately.
